✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Take Semaglutide as advised by your physician. It should be taken on an empty stomach. After taking Semaglutide wait at least 30 minutes before having your first meal or drink of the day or taking other oral medicines. Do not stop using this medicine without telling your doctor. Otherwise, your blood sugar levels may raise

Glucagon-like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) Agonist

• Incretins, such as GLP-1, enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion by pancreatic beta-cells.
• Suppresses inappropriately elevated glucagon secretion.
• Slows gastric emptying.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Semaglo 7mg Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Semaglo 7mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

• Renal Impairment: No dosage adjustment is required.
• Hepatic Impairment: No dosage adjustment is required.
• <18 years: Safety and efficacy not established.

✔️ Interaction

• Hypoglycemia: Co-administration with insulin secretagogues (e.g., sulfonylureas) or insulin may increase the risk of hypoglycemia; consider a lower dose of the secretagogue or insulin.
• Oral Medications: Semaglutide delays gastric emptying, which may impact the absorption of concomitantly administered oral medications. Use caution when co-administering with oral medications.

✔️ Contraindications

• Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or in patients with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
• Known hypersensitivity to semaglutide or any of the product components.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy

• Limited data regarding use in pregnant women. Animal studies suggest potential risks to the fetus.
• Discontinue treatment at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
• Poorly controlled diabetes during pregnancy increases maternal and fetal risks.

Lactation

• No data on the presence of semaglutide in human milk or its effects on breastfed infants.
• In lactating rats, semaglutide was detected in milk at levels 3- to 12-fold lower than in maternal plasma.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

• Thyroid C-cell Tumors: Semaglutide may cause thyroid C-cell tumors including MTC in humans, based on findings in rodents.
• Pancreatitis: Monitor for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis (e.g., persistent severe abdominal pain).
• Diabetic Retinopathy: Patients with a history of diabetic retinopathy may have an increased risk for complications.
• Pen-sharing: Semaglutide pens must never be shared between patients to avoid transmission of blood-borne pathogens.
• Renal Function: Monitor renal function when initiating or escalating doses in patients reporting severe gastrointestinal reactions.
